What is a warping board ? A warping board is a square or rectangular frame with pegs that weavers use to measure out each warp threads. The warp threads are those which are horizontal to the floor on which the loom rests. The pegs are normally distanced 1-yard apart. Zig-zagging from peg to peg and down the warp board, then back up the board, etc. is an easy way to measure the threads for the warp on the loom. The warp board is usually attached onto a wall with the top (3 pegs) eye-level to the user. CLICK for more info about weaving |
